There is good news for Guadalajara, as three Rojiblancos are joining Chivas’ squad in Seattle after winning the Concacaf U-20 Championship with the Seleción Mexicana, with the possibility of being eligible for Chivas’ final match of the 2026 Leagues Cup against Seattle Sounders.
Samir Inda, Santiago Sandoval and Hugo Camberos traveled to Seattle this Monday to reunite with their teammates and make themselves available to the coaching staff after several weeks of activity with the Mexico U-20 National Team. The three footballers played a prominent role throughout the tournament, in which Mexico were crowned champions this Sunday after defeating the United States 2-0 in the Final.
Hugo Camberos particularly stood out, as he was recognized as the tournament’s Best Player and also finished as the top scorer of the Concacaf U-20 Championship. Santiago Sandoval also played a key role in Mexico’s title run, as one of the important players who helped Mexico overcome the United States in the Final and claim the championship.
Now, Camberos, Sandoval and Inda will have the opportunity to rejoin the first-team dynamic and could be considered for minutes against the MLS side.
The return of these Cantera Rojiblanca products represents positive news for Guadalajara, which will play its final Leagues Cup match this Wednesday against Seattle Sounders and will then have to shift its focus once again toward the Apertura 2026. Chivas’ next Liga MX match will be on Sunday against Santos Laguna, in Jornada 4 of the Apertura 2026.
The remaining Chivas players who were part of the Mexico U-20 Team—Cristo Navarrete, Sebastián Liceaga, Carlos Hernández, Yohan Orozco and Diego Covarrubias—will join Tapatío and the Rojiblanco youth teams.
