Chivas picked up a point against Tigres at AKRON Stadium in a match where they fought until the final minute to secure a better result. Following the draw, Gabriel Milito addressed the media, acknowledged the team's lack of precision in front of goal, and stood by his players, reiterating his belief that the team would return to winning ways.
With the end of the Apertura 2026 regular season approaching, the Rojiblanco coach emphasized the importance of approaching the remaining fixtures with determination and highlighted the role each player will have to play during this stage of the tournament.
Gabriel Milito's Remarks at the Press Conference
Confidence in the Team
I still have full confidence in the team and the players. I see them as capable of returning to winning ways and finding the consistency in results that this team has shown it can achieve.
In soccer, these dips in form happen, and we need to get out of them quickly. I think it's important to maintain confidence in the team and have a clear understanding of how to approach each match.
On How the Match Unfolded
We faced a good opponent who had the same need to win. In the first half, we created clear-cut chances before they scored. Then came their goal and the sending-off.
In the second half, I think we made our numerical advantage count. We moved the ball well and managed to get forward against a very compact defense.
I believe that if we had been more precise, we could have won. The chances were there. The team took control and dominated the match, but we lacked the clinical finishing needed to make the most of those opportunities.
The Final Stretch of the Tournament
Clearly, we wanted to win, and we needed to. Now we have to look ahead. There were six matches remaining, and now there are five very important ones.
We need 100% from everyone because we're entering the final stretch, and there's a lot at stake. At this stage, mistakes can become increasingly costly, and we'll do everything we can to prevent that from happening.
Jordan Carrillo's Contribution
I'm happy for Jordan and for his goal. It's really good for him. We needed him to come on today, and he helped the team a lot with his goal.
The Importance of the Entire Squad
"All our players are important to the team."
